First build the world. Then give it a problem. Then try to repair what you have done.

Make a Problem. Solve it! is a participatory sculptural workshop within Kunst Nå!, a JAM PUBLIC production for Den kulturelle skolesekken.

The group begins in an empty circle and is asked what the world is missing. Together, they build a landscape filled with trees, animals and other forms of life.

Working in smaller groups, the pupils then choose a major social or global problem and construct it physically from paper and other simple materials. Each group presents its problem—before discovering that they must now solve it.

The rules can change from one version to another. Sometimes the solution must also become the tallest or smallest sculpture. The competition can produce unexpected choices: trees are cut down, landscapes collapse and new problems appear in the attempt to win.

The workshop combines sculpture, competition and conversation. The world becomes a shared model that the participants build, disturb and try to repair—much like the real world we have made together.

Kunst Nå! has toured schools across Agder through Den kulturelle skolesekken from 2024 to 2026.
