We like to build big – without necessarily inventing everything from scratch.

Scaffolding, Euro pallets, shipping containers, construction fences and other standard building systems already exist almost everywhere. They are practical, modular and made to be assembled, taken apart and used again.

For us, these systems are also artistic materials.

Working with what is locally available allows us to build at an architectural scale while adapting each work to a new place. The same idea might be constructed differently in Kristiansand, Örebro or somewhere we haven't been yet.

We are interested in the balance between the standard and the unexpected: taking something ordinary, functional and recognisable, and using it to make something it was never intended to become.

A cage. A museum. A stage. A meeting place. A temporary world.

And when it's over, it can disappear again.
