Inflatable Speech Bubble
What would you say to the world if you could say it six metres wide?
Inflatable Speech Bubble is a large inflatable sculpture that turns public expression into a collective physical activity.
The sculpture measures 4 × 6 × 3 metres and comes with hundreds of removable letters. Participants decide what they want to say and build the message together. As one message replaces another, the sculpture changes with the people around it.
The work can appear independently or as part of a festival, exhibition, workshop or public event. Each presentation responds to its particular place and creates a highly visible public statement.
Inflatable Speech Bubble is part of the Living Billboard universe: it borrows the scale and directness of advertising but places the message in the hands of the public.
First presented at Odderøya in Kristiansand, Norway, in 2020.
